Happy Mother's Day!

Today we celebrate our mothers.  This is the day we take our mom's (and sometimes grandmothers out to dinner.  Sometimes we give gifts and sometimes we give flowers and sometimes all three.

My brother and I will be taking my mother out to dinner tonight.  She is 82.  My mother has always been sad because she never knew her own mother.  My mother was 3 weeks old when her mother died from childbirth complications.

My mother grew up never knowing anything about her mother's side of the family or even who her grandparents were.  So for Mother's Day I decided to do some research.

I was able to find out a lot information about her mom.   I was also able to find out the names of her grandparents and even information about some other relatives.  Three of her cousin's were each Premiers of the province of Quebec!  She was so happy to find out more about her family and she said it was one of the best Mother's Day presents she ever got.

There is a saying that I will share with you...   A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.

So Happy Mother's Day to all you women who have had a child or will have a child someday.  If you're a mom already - my greatest respect to you.  If you have a mom , wish her Happy Mother's Day!

Take care,

Jo-Anne
